Adding Content to the Web Site
Follow these steps when you want to add content to the NRCS Montana state web site:
- Identify content you would like added to the Montana NRCS website.
Remember to use hyperlinks rather than duplicating material available
elsewhere on the Internet.
- Determine where your content will fit within the Montana NRCS website
structure.
- Discuss the proposed content with the appropriate
Content Manager.
- Put the information into a Word document; insert hyperlinks to any
external sites. Also provide files for any photos, graphics, or PDF
documents you would like included. (If these files have not yet been
developed, your Web Author may be able to help you do so.)
- Have a Web Author develop a draft
format of the new or revised web page(s) on the development server.
- The Web Author will notify you when new or revised web pages are ready
for review on the review server. Work with the Web Author to make any
corrections needed.
- After any corrections have been made, have the Content Manager review
the pages. The Content Manager must give approval to publish to the live
site. This approval can be in the form of an e-mail that is sent to you, and
is forwarded or carbon copied to the Web Author and the Webmaster.
- Once approval has been received, and both Section 508 (accessibility)
and style requirements have been met, the Webmaster will publish to the
production server, and the pages will become live.
