2008 CIG Application Package Check List
Montana State Component
Reference the Announcement Section IV Beginning on Page 10 for more
information.
- Application Cover Sheet: Completed Standard Form 424
- Project Summary Sheet: (2 pages maximum)
- Project Title;
- Project Director name and contact information;
- Names and affiliations of project collaborators;
- Project Purpose;
- Project Deliverables (products that will be provided to NRCS);
- Project Scope/Area;
- Project Start and End Dates;
- CIG Component Category (Natural Resource Concerns or State Technology);
- Application Category Information (sub-category and Review Area);
- Declaration of EQIP Eligibility;
- Declaration of Indian Tribe;
- Notice if application was submitted in competition for National CIG or
any other funding source; and
- Brief summary of project.
- Project Description: (10 pages maximum, double-spaced, single-sided, 12-point font, see specific page limitations for various sections)
- Project background;
- Project objectives;
- Project methods;
- Location and size of project or project area (include a map if
possible);
- Producer participation;
- Project deliverables;
- Project action plan and timeline;
- Project management;
- Benefits or results expected and transferability;
- Project evaluation; and
- Environmental impacts.
- Budget Information: Submit completed Standard Form 424A using the
required format provided by the Montana NRCS. A detailed budget narrative is
also required.
- Declaration for Indian Tribe: If applicable.
- Declaration of EQIP Eligibility: Include a statement indicating that
the proposed project will involve EQIP eligible producers.
- State Conservationist Technology Transfer Requirement.
- Other Submissions: State whether or not this application
was submitted in the CIG National Component competition or elsewhere.
- Certifications: Complete Standard Form 424B.
- DUNS Number: For information about how to obtain a DUNS number go to

Number or go to the Grants.gov website or call 1-866-705-5711.
- Required Central Contractor Registration: Visit the
Central Contractor
Registration website to register.
- Submissions: Refer to Sections IV of the Announcement for
instructions on how and when to submit proposals.
