2008 Conservation Innovation (CIG) Grants - State ComponentState Grant ComponentIn 2008, Montana NRCS is again making available $500,000 for the state component of CIG. The final funding amount may be more or less than the available amount and will be at the discretion of the Montana state conservationist. The Montana CIG State Component announcement of funding was approved by the Montana state conservationist on February 20, 2008 and approval to post the announcement to Grants.gov was given on February 26, 2008. The deadline for Montana NRCS to receive any submitted proposal is Wednesday, April 16, 2008. UPDATE - The announcement period closed on April 16, 2008. NRCS received 18 proposals requesting over $1.0 million in CIG funds. After an evaluation period the Technical Peer Review Panel will meet in May and tentative funding decisions are expected by June.
