Grassland Reserve Program

The Grassland Reserve Program (GRP) is a voluntary conservation program that assists landowners and operators in protecting grazing uses and related conservation values by conserving and restoring grassland resources on eligible private lands through rental contracts, easements, and restoration agreements.

Fiscal Year (FY) 2013 GRP

The deadline for 2013 applications was February 13, 2013 but we will continue to accept applications that may be deferred for 2104 funding. If you have questions, please contact Lisa.McCauley.

Montana Geographic Area Rate Caps (GARCs) for Fiscal Year 2013 GRP

The following table lists the Montana state GARC values for GRP for FY2013. The GARCs will always be less than the fair market value of the land as determined by the Area-Wide Market Analysis (AWMA) because the landowner retains certain reserved rights (for example: title, undeveloped recreation, the right to control access and to continue to graze the land).
