SSURGO Download: Digital soil data provided to local NRCS Service Centers (Field Offices) in Montana and available to the general public at the Montana Natural Resource Information System (NRIS).

Soil Survey Publication: How to Order a Soil Survey

Mapping Ongoing: Some soil mapping complete, up to and including completed, but not yet published.

Draft Soils Handbook: A draft of the map unit descriptions and soil series descriptions available in the responsible Soil Survey office and the associated NRCS Field Office.

CSTK Microsoft Access Database: Digital soil attribute data provided to NRCS field offices and available to the general public at NRIS. The database includes soil map unit component-specific property data and interpretations.

Forest Service Surveys:
Contact the appropriate Forest Supervisor's Office for available soil survey information.

  • MT605 - Beaverhead National Forest Area
  • MT606 - Flathead Indian Reservation Wilderness Area
  • MT632 - Lewis & Clark National Forest Area
  • MT633 - Bob Marshall, Scapegoat, Great Bear, and Mission Mountains Wilderness Area
  • MT640 - Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Area, western part
  • MT642 - Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Area, eastern part

National Park Service Surveys:
