Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP)

Water quality has emerged as a major environmental, social, and political issue. Non-point source pollution, caused by improper application of commercial fertilizer and agricultural wastes as well as feedlot runoff, has risen to the forefront of water quality impairment problems.

The NRCS eFOTG provides the most current Waste Utilization conservation practice standards and their associated specifications. These documents, along with the Montana Phosphorus Index vulnerability assessment tool, are intended for use by those individuals (both public and private) that may develop or assist in the development of Comprehensive Nutrient Management plans.
