Growth Habit: single trunk, broadening crown
Drought Resistance: good
Wildlife Value: fruit for birds and mammals
Pests: commonly damaged by browsing rodents, rabbits and deer
Other: good replacement for the elm because of its similar form and adaptability, somewhat tolerant to alkaline soils
