Adobe Reader format. Subject: ECS−National Forestry Handbook Purpose. Distribution of the new National Forestry Handbook. Effective Date. This amendment is effective upon receipt. Background. The National Forestry Manual contains policy and procedures in forestry and agro-forestry for NRCS. The purpose of the new National Forestry Handbook (NFH) is to provide informational material to assist Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) personnel in the planning and application of forestry and agro-forestry practices on non-federal forestland throughout the United States. The NFH contains methodology, procedures, and related reference materials. The new reference material assists NRCS personnel in implementing National Forestry Manual policy in forestry and agro-forestry technologies. The NFH provides the "how to" of forestland resource conservation planning. This handbook provides guidance and information concerning the planning process, specifically for forestry and agro-forestry related activities. The NFH provides the technical guidance for developing resource information for the inclusion in the Field Office Technical Guide (FOTG). Filing Instructions. Also included are the national directive tabulation sheet and Montana directive tabulation sheet. Please place these in front of the binder.
