Equipment Operation from Established Roads (Rule Four: 26.6.604) Illustration

SMZ boundary 50 feet. At least 25 feet to toe of road fill.

Operate under the following conditions:

  • Toe of road fill at least 25 feet from ordinary high water mark (OHWM.)
  • Designate skid trails approximately 200 feet apart.
  • No landings in SMZ.
  • Deck logs on side of road away from the stream.
  • Keep out of wetlands.
  • Establish or re-establish road drainage features.
  • Reclaim skid trails with erosion control and reseeding.
