Equipment Operation in Wetlands (Rule Four: 26.6.604) Illustration

Class 1, 2, and 3 Streams

Slopes less than or equal to 35% SMZ boundary 50 feet. The equipment operation boundary follows the SMZ boundary, including where it has been extended to include wetlands that are contiguous with the stream. The equipment operation boundary is also extended to include isolated wetlands that straddle the 50-foot SMZ boundary.

Operate under the following conditions:

  • Winter conditions with adequate snow or frozen ground.
  • No rutting or displacement of soil.
  • Protect/retain shrubs and submerchantable trees.
  • Do not remove stumps.
