Sage grouse are currently found in parts of California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, southern Alberta and Saskatchewan. Historic range included larger areas of these states and provinces, as well as areas in Arizona and New Mexico and pockets in British Columbia, Kansas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
