Serviceberry

Amelanchier alnifolia

Grows 2 to 16 feet tall, suckering to a 4- to 10-foot spread. Prefers sandy to loamy soils. Foothills to prairie ravines. Low water use; full sun to very light shade. Blooms May to June.
