Climatic Stress Chart

The Climatic Stress Chart chart determines three different wind levels (10, 20, and 30 miles per hour [mph]) and their correlating air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit (F) and the percent relative humidity which all provide viable conditions for seedling planting success.

When winds are 10 miles per hour and the relative humidity is 35 percent, seedlings should be planted between 80 degrees F and 40 degrees F.

When wind speeds are at 20 mph and the relative humidity is 25 percent, seedlings should be planted between 68 degrees F and 40 degrees F.

Finally, when wind speeds are 30 mph and the relative humidity is 20 percent, seedlings may be planted between 48 degrees F and 40 degrees F.
