FencesRange and Pasture Technical Note Number MT-30If you encounter any problems with the file provided on this page, please contact Technical Resources at 406-587-6822. September, 2002 The United States Department of Agriculture, United States Department of Interior, and the Society for Range Management's publication Fences contains valuable reference information on the design and construction of power and standard wire fences. It also contains alternative designs for special circumstances such as cattle guards, gates, water crossings, and wildlife concerns. Update - October 2009 The publication is no longer available for download. However, it can be ordered through the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Publications office. Submit the request at BLM_NOC_PMDS@blm.gov. Include a physical street address, phone number and fax number along with the order item P-429, Fences. Normally orders are processed and shipped within 1-2 business days. Also, a hard copy was mailed to each Montana NRCS field office in 2006, so it should be in a reference file in these offices. The designs in this publication may be used in conjunction with the Montana Field Office Technical Guide, Section IV−Standards and Specifications, 382−Fence.
