Pesticide Detections in Montana Ground Water
The source of this information is the Montana Department of Agriculture,
Ground Water Protection Program. The data is current as of January 1, 2011.
Please note that none of the detected pesticide concentrations exceed
established state numeric standards for those pesticides for which a numeric
standard has been adopted. The information presented here is based on a
statewide network of 42 permanent monitoring wells in addition to other ground
water sampling initiatives undertaken by the Department of Agriculture. Also
note that not all Montana counties are represented by the sampling and analysis
effort. Ground water samples were sent to the Montana Department of Agriculture
Analytic Laboratory in Bozeman, Montana where they were screened for over 90
different pesticides and pesticide breakdown byproducts at very low detection
