Cadastral

Cadastral data includes the Public Land Survey System (PLSS) and Ownership data.

PLSS, the system of townships, ranges, and sections, was originally established by the Land Ordinance Act of 1785. The U.S. Geological Survey maintains this data, including a digital version at a scale of 1:100,000.

Ownership data is a product of the Montana Cadastral Mapping Project, a public-private sector partnership to create, maintain, and disseminate a digital GIS land ownership map database of the entire state.
